SimCity Deluxe ‘The Perfect Replacement’

Posted on 11 August 2010 by kathydpaulin

SimCity was removed by EA from the Apps Store. SimCity Deluxe fits to be the perfect replacement.  SimCity Deluxe is a complex game with different scenarios.  It allows you to create a city of your own. Some cities you can build include farm towns, commercial centers and industrial cities.  It is your job to manage everything about the city.  Your job is to work like the city’s mayor.  You manage everything, including: education, commerce, health, residents and more.  Just like how the real world is, problems also arise in the city you build.  Crimes, debt and illiteracy are a few of them.

SimCity Deluxe was developed to ensure that it fit perfectly onto your iPhone’s screen.  Don’t expect that there wont be any compromises upon shrinking the contents.  You might get a little confused by the number of icons they provided.  You might need some time to familiarize yourself with all of the icons and feel comfortable with the game.  According to EA, it is a better version since it has good graphics, more options, and enhancements.

Another good thing about SimCity Deluxe is the availability of many different scenarios.  This gives you the chance to enjoy the full game experience without having to spend time first building the city.  You can build and maintain as many cities as you want, as long as you can keep up to all of these cities needs and demands.  You can choose from seven scenarios, which offer three levels of difficulty: easy, medium and hard.  Upon starting a scenario you won’t have to start from scratch;  A pre-built city will be provided for you to start with.  Plus it has four seasons that you can choose from.  These options make building cities more challenging, but allow for varied game-play every time.

The only downside to this game are the controls.  Not everyone is comfortable working on a very limited screen.  Some control schemes are done with ease like in zoning a land area, while laying down roads and pipes seem a bit hard to handle.  If you want to have a fun filled SimCity Deluxe experience you should take some time to adapt to the user interface.  The screen size might hold you back a bit, but with a little time and effort on your part, you'll be on your way to becoming the city’s favorite mayor.  The game advises you how to manage money wisely.  It also gives you the opportunity to complete defined objectives, which are somehow relevant to life’s real scenario.
