Battlefield 1943 - Where have you been all my life.

I downloaded the Demo from the PlayStation store on the PS3 after hearing many rave reviews, and quickly found out that the demo, although playable, was timed. You can imagine my disappointment to find out that after a half hour of playtime, I was now cut off from the fun - Cold turkey!

After a few hours, I got tired of the tutorial mode, and bought the game.

Battlefield 1943 is excellent! It has everything that you can ask for in a basic WWII capture the flag game. Tanks, Planes, Jeeps, and you can have your pick of Infantry, Rifleman, or Scout. It plays out with 24 players online across Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. There is an added bonus of playing Air Defense across a string of islands. Once again, very basic, but very fun. You could pick this game up for 10 minutes, or play for a few hours.

The game play is straight forward, nothing fancy - your average FPS (it uses the frostbite engine). If I paid $40 for this game I'd be upset, but it is priced right at $15.
